520 _aA two-day workshop, convened on September 13-14, 1995, addressed the critical issue of child labor in hazardous employment. This initiative followed the former Prime Minister's commitment to withdraw 2 million working children from hazardous employment by the year 2000. The workshop garnered participation from district collectors, magistrates, labor commissioners, and distinguished delegates, with the notable presence of the Prime Minister himself. To operationalize the recommendations arising from the district collector's workshop, the Ministry of Labour organized three additional workshops in February and March 1986. The objectives were to assess the progress in the implementation of National Labor Projects, coordinate survey efforts, and discuss strategies for grassroots-level awareness generation to ensure effective fund utilization. The report comprehensively covers the proceedings of these workshops.
