This book is a report of a Workshop and Symposium at the 4th International Congress on Tropical Paediatrics, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in July 1996. This workshop, in consideration of the International Paediatric Association in 1994, emphasis the need to implement the recommendations of the Dakar Declaration on a global scale. The report presents research on the impact of employment on the health and development of young children, strategies for intervention discussed by experts from developing and developed nations and conclusions and recommendations. It aims to dive deep into the physical and mental health of working children, child labour, child health and rights and the challenges faced by paediatricians. Further the report dives into the workshop discussion groups discussing the pressing matters on health care and risk factors of working children.
