Interventions are needed not just in the creation of housing stock, but also in the improvement of living conditions by extending access to basic amenities and social infrastructure. This report seeks to unpack the provisions of the current policies of public authorities that relate to slum redevelopment and rehabilitation in Mumbai. The report is divided into five chapters, with Chapter I laying down the general eligibility criteria that is often the first point of confusion and contention on the ground. Chapters II-V deal with the key policies and schemes.
