Also included in vol 1 are examples of other cities, and the approaches which have been adopted elsewhere for the conservation of historic cores in the context of fast expanding metropolitan areas. thus the objective of the excercise carried out in vol 2 is to extract the lessons put forth at the workshop held in Bombay october 1993, titled conserving an image centre, and actually apply those principles towards evolving a conservation strategy for the fort precinct.
